hi,

I am Shahid, have been working in Telecom Billing industry (IT) in India, for more than 8 years. I want to start applying for Canada Immigration. Been through the preliminary filling of application. I have this question and need some expertise help on this,

wat type of work permit do you want to apply for?
A post-graduate work permit
A work permit through seasonal agricultural worker program
A work permit with labout market opinion
A work permit for an intra-company transfree
A work permit under an international agreement
A work permit under a HRSDC pilot program
A work permit with a labout market opinion exemption

I have never studied in Canada and never been to Canada. I have my Engineers degree (B.E) along with my Diploma (D.C.T).

Have a nice day and Take care!

With warm regards,
Shahid Saud

If you want to apply for a work permit, then you will have to apply for: "A work permit with labour market opinion"

Before you can apply for the work permit, you will first have to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer you a job and that employer will then have to obtain an approved labour market opinion. You can't apply for a work permit until you have these two things.

Are you sure about this ? that I should apply with the option "A work permit with labour market opinion." Coz some of my far relatives have applied without getting the job and are into Canada now.

I am not sure whats this option for "A work permit under an international agreement" if you could help me on this its much appreciated.

As always your quick and correct responses kills all the ambiguities :) Keep well! take care.

With warm regards,
Shahid Saud

Yes - there are ways you can apply to immigrate to Canada without having a job offer in Canada first. However in this case you won't be applying for a work permit - you will be applying for permanent residency. These are two different things. In your first question you asked about applying for a work permit. If you want to apply for a work permit, you need a job offer in Canada and an approve labour market opinion.

Work permits under international agreements refer to agreements such as NAFTA (benefits US citizens under specific professions). Canada has no international agreement with India.

I think I got mixed up with the PR and WP. As always thank you so much for your response. I need one more help from you then. How do I apply for Permanent Residence ?

What is the starting point ? I can go around and check but dont want to d any mistake this time.

Keep well!! and you Rock!! :)
