My wife is on an OWP that has the restriction that she is '1. NOT AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN CHILDCARE PRIMARY/SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHING, *HEALTH SERVICE FIELD OCCUPATIONS*.'
She has already done the medical exam and applied for the restriction to be removed last week.
We assume it may take some weeks (or more) for the process to issue her a new OWP without restriction.
In the meantime, she was applying for some jobs and got an offer as a Laboratory Technician in a company that manufactures products related to probiotics (bacteria). She is a Biotechnologist, so she will be working in a lab, basically creating the products.
We pointed out to the company that her OWP has the restriction, but the company said it is OK since she won't have contact with people, and they basically are on the market for the manufacture of products.
So, we are still unsure whether to trust the company assessment, so she can start working or we bail out on the offer with the fear that we might be doing something illegal.
We don't think the offer will be on the table if we ask for more than a week, they really need someone soon.
I know it is a very specific situation, but does somebody has any advice to give in such a case?
Any feedback or advice is welcome!
