Work Permit Renwal

Hi there,

I'm losing my mind trying to navigate the online immigration website, I'd really appreciate some help with what should be a really easy answer (hopefully). The work permits for my wife and I are up for renewal. We live and work in Toronto - I'm on a closed work permit, which I have from a PNP from 2017. My wife is on an open work permit.

I have everything I need from the checklist and the renewal should be a formality but I cannot find the route to apply online, in spite of many hours looping back and forth on the CIC website.

According to the CIC website guidance I create an account (done), complete the necessary online forms and submit, However, when I create an account, either using a bank partner or a unique key, the only option I have is to apply for Express Entry, I see nothing at all that gives me a route to renew a work permit. All the advice on the website circles back to the same posts.

I have to be missing something and I didn't think I was that stupid. Do I need to fill in a the PDF version of the renewal form and then somehow upload it, or is there an online version ti submit?

Any help I'd really appreciate,

Hello, i might not be able to answer but i can totally relate for I have also applied for extension work permit online. It’s honestly confusing, I answered the questionnaire multiple times just to reach the form specific for my case. I am under caregiver by the way, i just scanned through this forum since i am still waiting for the decision of my application.. it’s been almost 3 mos! did you consider submitting by papers? I heard from some that it takes longer though, but i am still even on dilemma right now with my online application...

I downloaded adobe acrobat DC, downloaded and filled in the form, saved it, then through the website, i answered the questionnaire that lead me to how i am going to apply for my case. There are instructions given and they actually specify the forms to download too.. but i already knew what form to use so i uploaded it right away. It also asked to upload my passport and a picture..
