Work Permit Renewal while I wait for ITA

Hi,

My Post graduate work permit is expiring closer to the end of the year. I want to be proactive and start renewing it while I wait for ITA for PR. However, I read recently that PG work permits are no longer being renewed. Am I still able to renew my work permit? Can you advise on what my options are please?

Not sure what you mean by renew. If you are asking about the special policy that allowed PGWP holders to extend the validity of their PGWP, that program is no longer available and IRCC has said there will be no further special policies like this one.

If you want to continue working longer, then you would need to do that under a different rule such as having your employer get an approved LMIA or receiving ITA and then submitting your complete application to get AOR before your current work permit expires.
