work permit renewal for it software developer...help....

I currently have a work permit valid till august 22nd, 2010 for software developer without an lmo under the exemption for it related jobs. I know that the exemption comes to an end in september, 2010. I have applied for renewal in june 2010. Am I still good to get the renewal or will they require me to have an lmo?

You should be fine since you have applied.

i attached a letter from my employer stating that they want me to continue working for them and requesting cic to extend my permit for another year. Also an updated offer of employment stating salary, job requirements, etc signed by the president of the company. I have sent in copies of my current work permit and all the required cic forms with the payment.

I have also applied for my pr based on arranged employment offer, it is currently being processed in buffalo and i have received my 2nd aor from buffalo.

the website says 61 days or roughly 2 months. I sent my application on the 7th of june so i am expecting to hear something by the first week of august. My permit expires on the 22nd of august but I understand if i dont hear from them by then, I am under implied status.

Yea...if you are not changing your employer and have already sent the docs to CIC - you have done everything on your part and can work with the company until you hear from them.
