Hi,

I have a stamped Canada 1 year Work Permit valid up to Oct 2013.
Now my employer says that I will be travelling to Canada only after Mar 2013 for a project for 1 year.
Now my query is whether the work permit duration starts from the day I land in Canada or the date the work permit is stamped on my passport.
Kindly Clarify.

The below info is mentioned on the CIC website
"If you have been authorized to work by a visa office outside of Canada, you will receive a letter of introduction stating that you are allowed to work in Canada. That letter is not a work permit.

When you arrive in Canada, you must show your letter of introduction to the Border Services Officer (BSO). You must also show your passport, your visa (if one is required) and any travel documents you are carrying (such as airline tickets). The BSO will then give you a work permit that sets out the conditions of your stay and work in Canada. These may include your job title, your employer and the length of time you can work in Canada."

I had applied for work permit @ new delhi, India.

So can u kindly clarify when does the duration of the work permit actually start??
