Thanks for response. I have one of my friends who is a visitor and applied for open work permit and got refused which resulted his temporary resident permit to be expired. Can some one please advise if my friend can leave and re-enter Canada again?

Thanks

Write a post about it cuz I'm not sure about the re-entry part. The refusal is valid because you need to have a valid LMIA in order to apply for an open work permit.

My employer had the PR only LMIA in process when my work permit expired. It came through positive and I applied for PR. Literally a draw happened today, which I fall under. Hopefully in next 6 months I'll be back in Canada. FYI: I left Canada before my 90 days, to restore my status was up.

I have question, we had the same situation where our PGWP got expired and requested for an extension but got refused. However, my wife is a nurse and had an invitation to apply for OINP (Employer Job offer "Foreign Worker Stream") but the status is still "Decision in Progress". Currently we applied for Restoration of Status "Visitor Record" instead of Work Permit since my wife does not have a LMIA.
I was thinking about bridging permit but I think it wont help since there is no ITA yet from OINP. Any thoughts on this would really appreciate it

Just reapply for extension and add restoration. You can't work, but if your employer doesn't care, you can keep working.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure that IRCC will know that I worked without a valid permit since taxes are getting paid. I did applied for a restoration but not work permit extension. as of this point dont know what other ways I can leverage to got another permit without a LMIA . we already consulted MOP that haven't gotten any response yet

Just add the LMIA to the same application when received.
