work permit / PGWP expiring soon !!! What's the PLAN B ??

Hello Guys ,

This thread is more inclined towards those Exp. Entry candidates ( mostly students ) whose work permit - PGWP expiring soon and who don't see any hope in the near future . I was just curious to know what do you guys have as a PLAN B . I've been reading/researching about this and came up with these ideas :

>Try to get PNP/LMIA ( hard for students with only diplomas )
>Try increasing IELTS points ( max. possible score 447 given 2 yrs CAD work exp )
>Try getting study permit ( re-admission ) if on the verge of work permit expiry .

Your input on this topic would be much appreciated !!!

I have read extensively on this forum and my conclusion is you either try pnp - Ontario if you are above 400 or re do your celpip. I am trying the pnp route. I applied for an extension as a visitor. Any one with any advice, please help.

I'm in the same boat, PGWP expiring on 29th April 2016.
I have applied for OINP in Jan 2016, but still it should be May 2016 at least till i get Nomination
I'm planning to apply for Visitor Visa this week.

Same situation WP expiring in May 2016, applied to AINP in Feb 2015, the back up plan is to send spouse to school so that I can apply for Open WP. If that fails to my bad luck we will apply for visitors. And to add some more 425 is the maximum that we scored in EE.

I applied for a visitor extension, hopefully all goes well for all of us.

One example case: my cousin's PGWP expired in OCT 2015, so he applied for visitors in Sep 2015 and he got it approved last week. During this period he was on implied status with family but he could not work. I mean or im assuming it is taking about 4 monthish to get approved and also depends case to case.

Question to you people, why have you applied for Visitor Extension which takes about 140 days to process instead of Visitor Visa from inside Canada which takes 7 days to process ?

We applied for Visitor extension coz that's what the cic agent told us to request for. According to your statement, it seems we made a mistake but moving forward, if we get the visitor extension can we apply for a visitor visa?

Well if you get Visitor extension there is no need to apply for Visitor Visa.

Hello TrackIT, can you tell me what explanation did your Cousin give when he applied for the Visitor Visa, also what did he write in field of "Whom are you visiting and where will you be staying" ?

Sorry there is mistake in my previous text. So my cousin applied for Visitors visa but NOT visitors extension. And his case is complicated as his wife was pregnant and due for Feb 2016 that was his only explanation i guess and i am assuming he might have showed his sister's address (Canadian citizen) for his residential address. He have also showed bank statement with 12000+ for POF. however his visitors visa will be expiring in April 2016 and then he plans to apply for visitors extension it seems. That is his situation !

Why would you apply for Visitor Visa Or Visitor Visa extension when CIC instructs you to apply for BOWP after PGWP?

You can't apply for BOWP unless, you have a LMIA or you have completed R10 post ITA.
