Work-Permit issued/ approved just day after marriage before

Hi,

My spouse work permit was issued/approved just day after the marriage, so we did not have a time to inform IRCC . Received the work permit now due to postal strike.

While applying for TRV asking for marital status and date. WP Approval date is 11/06/2024 (mm/dd/yyyy) and Marriage Date is 11/05/2024.
What do i need to do in this situation? Is anyone aware of this kind of situation?

I am in canada as permanent resident & she is on open work permit. Although we have not received the marriage certificate.

You need to contact IRCC and amend your application and then you should be awarded a new OWP. I would not work until you receive the accurate OWP if she did not have a valid WP before. Did you not contact IRCC as soon as you got married about change in marriage status? It’s been 1.5 months.

Unfortunately, we were not aware of it & did not let IRCC know, it was approved day after marriage ceremony, we did not realize that. We have open work permit now for her after her graduation.

Any idea how much time it take & she can legally stay in canada until everything resolve?

It is not that she is in Canada illegally it is that that her WP has some innacuracies so needs to be reissued.
