Work Permit / IEC confusion

Hi I'm Australian who currently holds an open work permit, on a working holiday visa that I obtained through IEC (International Experience Canada) in 2014. This visa will expire in May of this year and with my wanting to come back to Canada, I applied for a new work permit through IEC.

But to my confusion, when my application was approved, I have been given a Work Permit, even though I had applied for a working holiday visa, there was no indication this is apart of IEC ( I don't know if I'm just reading this all wrong or what)
I am hoping this doesn't mean I need a temporary resident visa (TRV) when I arrive at the airport to go through immigration. Because as of the last few times I've just gone through on a working holiday Visa issued through IEC. And I have no Idea if I require an LMIA. Since I have no offer of employment. and I stated that when applying.

Any answers that could clear up my confusion would be greatly appriciated, And I hope that I have been clear enough on what I am trying to say here.
Thank you for you time.

So you had a Working Holiday visa for 2 years first? Australians can have a working holiday visa for up to 2 years.

Then you applied for the Young Professional visa without a job offer?

But you said you obtained a working holiday visa in 2014. How could you apply for a "working holiday visa" again if you already had one for the maximum duration of 2 years? Yes, it's very confusing why they issue a work permit just like that, if you have already filled the 2 years and did not apply for Young Professionals with a valid job offer. Maybe a mistake on their side. To be honest, even if you would love to have the permit, I would call them right away and ask if a mistake had been made. Better be up front with them so you won't be blamed in the future.

I did, but it is expiring in May this year and I wish to return in June (I am currently in Australia). I was informed that I could apply for a new working holiday visa while the current one was still in, so once June came around I could head out without a worry and just enter the way I had previously. So having done so, I went through all the steps and did everything right, and then received that letter for a work permit instead. So it may very well be a mistake. And I hope it is. I'm trying to find multiple ways to get in contact with them but find no clear way. Would you be able to suggest who I get in contact with? because I am at a loss right now.

1, As you had an IEC prior to 2015, you are entitled to a final IEC of 2 years, which the Visa office issued you.

So you're saying that, the fact they have sent me a work permit...is the work permit for the working holiday?

This does not make sense. CIC issues a Working Holiday only once. Same applies to the Young Professionals visa, which they issue only once.

Australians have the benefit that other than most countries, the Working Holiday visa will last for 24 months instead of only 12 months. But if you already had a 24 months WORKING HOLIDAY visa, then they should have not given you another one. The only options would have been the Young Professionals visa, which they cannot give to you without a job offer letter in a B-level job and previous work experience in same position.

Australia—Working Holiday

Description: The Working Holiday category is designed for Australian citizens who intend to travel in Canada and who wish to find temporary paid employment to help pay for their trip (up to 24 months).

Note: As an Australian citizen, you may participate in the Working Holiday category only once. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may participate in IEC one more time through the International Co-op (Internship) category.

1. Read the link that I gave you closely. Australians who have participated prior to 2015, which the OP did, are entitled to 1 last 2 year working holiday visa.

There is no link.

I took the information from CIC directly.

First of all: Thank you both for your time on this topic.
Ok so what I've gathered, I have the POE letter and this is my last right in the working holiday program. So does that mean, I am exempt from the LMIA? Since I got this work permit through IEC. And if I don't have a job offer when I enter Canada will I be denied entry?

I'm sorry to ask these questions, but anything I read on CIC is hard to understand and sometimes confusing with their information and just ends up creating more question for myself.

1. You have the Letter of Intro. all you need is the Proof of funds and the insurance. As stated you are exempt from requiring a LMIA.
