Hi all,

Happy new year! I have a question regarding obtaining a work permit for my spouse with my BC PNP nominee letter.
I will get a BC PNP nomination letter because of postgraduate studies in BC around May 2021. My husband currently holds an open work permit ( he received it because I am a full-time student); however, it is going to be expired soon on 31 August 2021. My husband is working as a full-time electrical engineer in BC right now.
We are planning to apply for Provincial Nominee Class (PNC) Express Entry after I will receive the nomination letter.
I will have the option of applying for Post Graduate work permit (PGWP) after graduation. I am not sure if I will find a NOC 0, A or B after graduation so he might not be able to apply for a work permit this way.
Since the process of PR application will take long, my husband needs a work permit after his current open work permit will expire on 31 August 2021.
So my question is :
1- Can my husband apply for an open work permit with my PNP nominee letter?
2- if yes, under which category should he apply for extending his work permit?

Your help is highly appreciated
