Work permit extension

Hello!
My spouse open work permit expired on June and applied for extend my status as visitor, now I have my visitor record which is valid until Feb 2020,can I extend my work permit at the border without a TRV (with all the required documents) on my passport and just the visitor record. Since online processing is too long.
Please advise!

If you qualify, you can try. CBSA may or may not issue it to you.
