WORK PERMIT EXTENSION UPDATE

HI GUYS,

I have applied for work permit extension under same employer last June 2015. Its been more than 6 months i have`nt got any news from CIC for now, the only thing it shows in myCIC account is that the status of my application is still open. I have contacted CIC 3 times already & i have got different response at each time. I am super stressed with this current situation i had plans to visit back home this coming march but i guess i wont be able to. I am desperate for help guys. Did anyone else applied for work permit extension lately ? or did anyone got there work permit approved recently ? please update this post. Many thanks in advance.

I applied online for work work permit extension with the same employer on September 4, no news ever since. There is a thread on this forum about August/September applications. There I read that someone who applied in August has got their extension recently. On CIC web site it says they are working on the applications submitted in August. You need to call them again and you need to sound more demanding. In your case the processing time has already passed more than 2 months ago. They have to look specifically at your case. Call as many times as you have to. I found that different agents respond in a different way. If one if unhelpful - call right back and talk to another one.

Thanks for the reply. I have no clue whats taking them way so long to approve the work permit of the applicants. Guys lets put a timeline in order to help others same in our situation. Also one more thing, my permanent residence application is also in process its been 6 months i havent got any update on my file aswel. Does work permit extension processing delays the processing of permanent residence file process?

I hired a representative to process my pr application. For now i can see on myCIC account is that my file is in process as of july 2015, i have received file no. for my application & all the fees have been paid before submitting my application. As for work permit extension i did receive the confirmation from cic that my application has been submitted & have received work permit extension file number aswel.

Acknowledgement Of Receipt.....When did you submit your PR application? Are you applying for EE o under PNP?

Hi, i applied for a work permit extension online with same employer on July 14 2015 and still saying final decision not started on mycic. I have posted a letter to Vegreville and sent a webform enquiry but still no change .It doesn't seem fair when you see other threads getting permits in 3-4 months. I have also rang CIC about 6 times now and they just keep saying there is a backlog!!.

My friend just called CIC to follow up his wp application applied last july 18 bcoz its almost 6 months and still nothing good news, and the agent said they will going to verify if my friend restoration is legal thats why his application takes longer. He is under restoration when he re-applied his wp extension.

Sorry but i asking you when did you submit your PR application? Have you rcvd your file number?

yes i did received my file number for my Pr file aswel as for my work permit extension application.

Sorry next time pls give some details so that some members here can answer what your question is, as of now applicants from May 2015 just rcving their medical request, and Applicants from Sept 2015 starting rcving their AOR, and applicants from Jan, Feb 2015 starting rcving their PPR.

to be specific i have received my Pr file number by the end of july 2015.
for work permit extension i received application number by end of june 2015.

still waiting for results for work permit extension & aswel for Pr application. waiting for medicals for Pr application.

I applied for PR under AINP in July 2015, received file number on November 3 and awaiting medical request. Will keep ye updated on any changes, can you do the same please?.
