Hi All,

My friend working in canada on closed work permit for past 1.5 years. She applied for work permit extension on Jan 2022 with new job offer provided by her employer.

Her work permit extension is rejected recently due to one small mistake she did on application. She mentioned old job offer id in application but she attached correct letter.

Now, she is out of status. I require your response whether she can do any of the below to continue to stay and work in canada.

1. She is planning to do flagpoling and talk to CBSA officer about rejected application and provide all correct documents to get work permit. Will it work?

2. Can she wait for 90 days restoration period and reapply for work permit again. Will it be processed on priority?

Please help us with your thoughts.

Thanks

1. She should absolutely not flagpole while out of status. A person should only flagpole with valid status.
2. I don't understand what you mean by "wait for 90 day restoration period". She needs to apply to restore her status. She should do that now / asap. She can apply to restore her status back to worker.

Sorry, I meant to restore her worker status within 90 days timeline. Will it be processed on priority?

There's no priority processing.
