Work permit extension refusal

Hi everyone, I'm new to this so if my question has been answered on another post then sorry, I just need a little friendly advice. I work as a registered nurse, my work permit expires on 11th Oct. I applied for an extension in June which has been refused as I do not have a letter indicating my permanent residency is being processed within Canada. I sent them the only correspondence I have received regarding my PR application since they got it in December 2011 which states my PR is being processed after a positive review in Sydney NS. It doesn't state the visa office it was sent to for processing. Is there any way to get this information? Or am I too late now my extension has been refused?

I have tried the call centre and haven't ever managed to get through to an agent. Is my only option now to go through restoration of status and not work for three months? Also, if this is refused too and I have to return to the UK will my PR application be affected? I have applied as a federal skilled worker with an offer of permanent employment from within Canada, received Dec 2011, processing since Feb 2012.

Thanks for any advice. I'm starting to feel really worn down.

Submitting a Federal Skilled Worker application does not give you the right to extend your work permit. If you wish to extend your work permit and remain in Canada, you will have to obtain an approved LMO and then apply for the new work permit.

Your PR application will not be affected if you return to the UK.

Thanks, glad to hear my PR won't be affected. I have an new LMO, they never asked for it. Just asked for proof of where my PR was being processed. Can I apply again for a work permit or do I have to go through the restoration process?
