Work permit extension or BOWP?

My work permit visa extension is due mid of this year. I have already submitted my PR application (AOR Dec 21), now i am confused should i apply for the normal work permit extension or go with BOWP ?

What are the pros and cons of going with either options?

You BOWP is linked to your PR application. If your PR application gets rejected, so does your BOWP. So if your WP expired and waiting on BOWP, and your PR app is rejected, you’re automatically out of status.

If you go for WP extension, it’s totally separate from your PR application.

Processing time is the same for both.

If your employer is willing, might as well go for a WP extension.

Oh I see, I didn’t know this. I did a quick look up, looks like you’re good until BOWP expiry then.

apply for BOWP. Submit acknowledgment of receipt as well. i recently got 1 year of BOWP.
Apply one month prior to expiry of current work permit.
