Work Permit Extension Denied - Restoration Applied - Job Opportunity ?

I had a PGWP after that I got a one year work permit. I applied for extension they rejected it on the reason that my PR application (PNP-PR stream) was in the system. I did sent them my PR application, guess it takes longer then I expected for the application to be in the system.
I applied for restoration Dec end. Currently waiting for the decision (now have my pr application number and everything). I had to leave my job because of this.
Now I have this opportunity to work for an american company. They hired me and its a work from home kind of a gig. Am I allowed to do that? as technically I am not going to office and the work is from home and they will be sending money from their American Account.

Any help or suggestion would be helpful.
Thanks

You can work for the American company from Canada provided they have no Canadian customers / clients and do no business with or for Canadian companies.

They are not going to reveal their complete client list :(. I am a Software developer. But even if they are doing business with someone I am working for them not for the Canadian company.

You'll need to verify that none of their clients / customers are Canadian.

If I can verify then I can work.
But if the Canadian government come after me then do you think the company is going to issue their internal accounts and clients list to CIC. They don't operate in Canada. So nothing to do with Canadian government. :(
What about free lancing work. Can I work on Upwork etc thats online work.
