1. Did you apply for extension(for the same employer) before PGWP expired?
a) If yes, you have implied status, can continue working and stay in Canada until CIC makes a decision. You will lose implied status if you leave Canada before the new permit is issued.
b) If no, you have to apply for restoration of status.
2. Did you apply for extension(with new employer) before PGWP expired?
a) If yes, you do not have implied status, must stop working when permit expires. Can start working again when new permit arrives and can stay in Canada until decision is made.
b) If no, you have to apply for restoration of status.
3. Temporary resident visa(TRV) - new work permit required before you can renew TRV
4. Changing status to visitor - only applicable if you are not able to restore your status to worker and want to remain in Canada legally. Note that visitors are not permitted to work.

Hi jes_ON,
I am on implied status because i applied for my WP extention before my PGWP expired. now the 90 day is approaching soon, so i am thinking of applying for restoration of status, and have to change it to TRV right, i will probably take off from work and go back to my home country and wait.
Please advice, thank you jes_ON.
