Hi,

I am holding TWP and my husband is holding SOWP. My contract and work permit expire at June-30/2011. I am going on a maternity leave on June 24/2011. Does my employer must hold my position until I comeback from the leave? (even though the original contract end date is during my maternity leave?)

Thank you,
Debby

Hi,

No, the employer is not required to hold your position. If you plan on staying in Canada after the baby is born in June, you must apply for a change of conditions to your permit from worker to visitor (unless you get another job).

Hi,
Question: I am pregnant now n month 8. I am going on my maternity leave at 30 September 2016. My work permit going to expire on February 2017 which is during my maternity leave. If I applied for renew my TWP can I get it or not? My husband has TOWP his work permit expired on same time. He is depend on me. What I have to do to renew our (me n my husband) work permit during my maternity leave?

You need an approved LMIA to extend your work permit.
