I applied for sinp in sakkatchewan..ofcourse.
Soon after applying I lost my job and then I notified sask govt that I have lost my job and would let you know about my new employer. They said you have to give us a new approved job letter from your new employer. I said well if thats the rule I will do so.
I applied for a new job as my work permit was about to expire in 45 days. I got a job and I explained to the employer that I want you to apply for a approved job letter so I can get my sinp done. He said you just concentrate on the job I will take care of the rest.
After a month went by I asked him and he said its the HR department who take care of this and they are on vocations. So I waited and finally they he talked to HR people whereas I had only 1 month left on my work permit. So I waited for few weeks and nothing happened. I talked to my General Manager and he said HR guys have applied but there is nothing back from the government. I went to the office in Regina and talked to an officer over there. She said we can't do anything everything is on backlog and you have to wait. I told her that my work permit is expiring and I need it .... she said it can take a day, a week or even months ...they refused to give me a time frame..I said If I don't get it I would be out of and have to leave Canada. She said unfortunately she can't help.
So I panicked for a day or so.... I thought its better to keep working and hope for the best. Nothing happened and my shifts were all over the place.. so I applied for an extension of work permit just 2 days before the expiry of my work permit. I got a letter and gave it to my employer just to show that I can work until I get a decision.
What really happened was.... I was tired and deppressed because of the situation and the day I applied for my extension of work permit my computer was not working well. I struggled to find where to apply for work permit...i got something on CIC website and applied but it was a wrong one I applied. there was an option to apply for work permit if you have applied for sinp... I just somehow missed that part and applied for a normal extension. paid the 200 dollars etc. and thought I'm good for atleast for few weeks and have the window to keep working until immigration guys get back to me.
I Kept on working but I met an employee at my work place who said this is not the letter you need as a confirmation....that his letter was something else ... but I ignored him at that moment. Whatever, I kept working whereas I should have stopped. I got a letter from CIC that you have to apply for restoration and stop working. But if I stop working my sinp is a waste even if I get the approved job letter. I talked with sask govt they said you must be on job when you get the approved letter otherwise you have to re apply... can you believe it. I was going nuts and had no idea what to do. I knew that I can stay in canada for 90 after the work permit expired....so I took the chance based on that the letter may soon arrive and its all gonna be good. Yes I was depressed and frustrated plus my job was in retail and I have to keep up with my daily target and sales etc.... it was stress 24/7. But no letter came and I stopped working. and eventually returned to my home country.
Now its been a year... I have been working on a good skilled job and came to know that I can apply for Canada under point system. But my worry now or the reason for this post is would I get permanent residency?? because I worked in Canada for about a month without a work permit? If I apply for a permanent residency would the immigration officer decline me residency to canada based on the fact that I breached the rules of working without a work permit.?? I need your help on this should I apply now and will there be a problem??
