Work Permit expired after PR application Approved.

Hi everyone,

My PR application was approved earlier this year, I have gotten my COPR and stamp on my passport, however my Work permit expired early March. My plan was to validate my PR at the border but now everything is closed and IRCC is no longer taking appointments. I have applied for a restoration of status and a renewal of my work permit because I wanted to be safe. Does this mean I can't continue to work? I feel stuck because the restoration of status will take forever given the current COVID-19 situation.

No, you can't work. You should have applied for the extension prior to your permit expiring.
