Hello Everyone,

I am Currently in India. I have a temporary resident visa as a visitor for a short term study(4weeks) in Canada starting in April.
I received a Job Offer from an Employer in Canada who started my LMIA process. I expected it to take a long time but Today my employer informed me that my lMIA was approved and is currently in the mail.

Can I enter Canada as a Visitor and get a work permit at the port of Entry with a valid job offer and LMIA?(The online processing time is way too high and my employer may not wait that long and I may lose the job)

I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you!

No - unfortunately you can't. Only those who hold visa exempt passports can obtain a work permit at the border. You will have to apply either online or by mailing in an application.
