Work Permit at POE

My WP expired on May 30, 2014. I applied for a WP extension while my firm waited on my LMO. We got the positive LMO Friday but I would rather just go to the border and get my WP than send the LMO to CPC and wait. I dont care if i have to pay another 155.00
I want to do it this way because my wife's open work permit expired the same day as mine so want to get my WP asap so that i can send I can include it in her work permit application that we already filed. We are going to Hawaii in August so want to get the WP going as quickly as possible.

Do you think I will have an issue at border if i want to apply for WP there even though i already have extension in with CPC?

I read from some one on this forum who went to border and applied there and his existing application was automatically cancelled though he was questioned to justify why he was in a hurry and came to border.

However, one confusing element for me is, if you go to border and apply now and your prior application is cancelled (which gave you the implied status, because it was applied for before previous wp expiry), i am not sure if that has any impact or not.

I called CIC and and she even put me on hold to confirm i will not have an issue
I will just have to pay for a new application.
As for hurrying.....i need to be able to travel outside Canada to see clients so need the WP as soon as i can so I can book m'y business travel.....so that i dont think will be much of an issue.

Glad to hear that. All the very best. I thought they might refund the fee too - at least thats what i remembered from that post. Any way that is less important thing.

2. Only I have LMO not my spouse. will my spouse also get a new work permit from the new employer?
