Work Permit Application while waiting for Restoration as Visitor

Hi everyone,

I was on maintained status between my IEC OWP and the processing of an OWP under TRPR French essential worker (non-healthcare) when I received a work permit refusal on the grounds of not meeting the language requirements. The minimum language requirement for this stream is NCLC 4 and I provided clear proof of meeting these requirements. I phoned IRCC and was told in fact the refusal was due to not submitting the $155 processing fee. I was advised to re-apply.

The problem is it has put me out of status. I can not restore as a worker due to IEC specific rules, so I must restore as a visitor.
I immediately applied to restore my status as a visitor.

Next, to re-apply for the work permit:

Can I apply for an OWP before my visitor restoration application is approved?

Hi, I am in similiar situation. Have you restore your status and get the new application approved? Is that we cannot choose restore as worker and apply new owp pathway due to IEC specific rules?

Hi, I finally consulted an immigration consultant. Once we had IEC permit and got an out of status, we cannot restore as worker except the limited conditions as stated in IRCC website. Turned out I left Canada and reapplied in my home country
