work permit application while on visitor record

Need your advise guys... pls help...

I'm currently in canada as a visitor and at the same time I have a visitor record which I'm allowed to stay in canada til sept 30, 2013. I also have a pending application for work permit which I filed in new york last april.

I called cic to ask if I need to file for an extension since it says on the website that I have to file an extension 30 days before my visa expires. I also told the agent that I have a pending application for work permit and my passport is in new york consulate office. I talked to two agents but they gave me two different answers, one said that I have to file for an extension because l will be out of status by sept 30. I tried calling back after 2 days and asked another agent regarding my concern then she told me that yhere"s no need to file an extension since I have a pending application for work permit. So now I'm totally confused who to listen to.

The reason why I called cic for the second time is because when I called them when I was about to file my application for work permit the agent told me not to include my original passport in the application since I'm already in canada and I have a valid tourist visa til 2015. So I sent the application without my passport but it returned to me after a week and told me that I have to include my passport in the application package.

Now, the big question is should I file another extension to stay here in canada or not?

Bending work permit application doesn't allow you to stay in Canada longer than what your current visitor visa allows. However, you can remain in Canada on "implied status" if you apply for the extension and while waiting for your extension application, the current visitor visa expires. My advice to you is to apply for the extension and include a letter mentioning your work permit application.

My question s wouldit be possible for a TRV be transferred to an OWP inside Canada? My husband is currently on a low skilled WP but waitng for his new WP to be finalized. As it going to take a little time, I am planning to go to Canada as TRV and by the time my husband's new WP is done and he can apply for me as OWP, would it be possible to apply and change it from Canada itself?

Appreciate your advise.
