Work permit application from the uae taking too long

Hello

I noticed that my application (LMIA based closed work permit) is taking too long to process.
The processing time from the UAE is now at 26 weeks and it’s been 31 weeks since I did my biometrics.

below is my timeline

application submitted : 11 march 2024
Biometrics instruction letter: 18 march 2024
Biometrics completed: 20 march 2024
Medical results passed : 22 march 2024

since then I’ve been is eligibility review and background check

Is it normal for some applications to take longer to process?
can you share your timelines to compare?

Do you know of any applications from march that got processed from the Abu Dhabi office?

Posted processing times are just estimated averages. The whole system has become incredibly slow because Canada is trying to reduce the number of temporary permit holders in Canada.

my timeline was also similar but i didnt get medical request thru IRCC and got my visa stamped recently without medical. Is it concerning that medical was not requested and not done but still i got visa?

So you also applied in march from the UAE??
For the record my medical was upfront it wasn’t requested

Have you tried checking this tracker to see how long other people have been taking?
