Work permit and dependent visa- Please, please, please help

Hi all,

I am currently employed in USA. As I did not get picked in the H1B lottery , my company is applying for a work permit to work in Canada for a year and will have me come back after a year. I am getting married in India in November this year. I am planning to leave to Canada sometime by the end of this year. I have a couple of questions. It would be of great help if you guys can answer my questions:
1. Would it be possible for my spouse to accompany me to Canada?
2. Are there any chances of the dependent visa getting rejected?
3. How easy is it to get dependent visa for my spouse?
4. And, also how long is the visa processing time for my work permit and dependent visa?

1. Yes - once you're married your spouse can apply to accompany you to Canada.
2. Yes - there's certainly a chance the dependent visa may be refused.
3. It can be difficult to get a dependent visa approved if your spouse cannot demonstrate strong ties to her home country and prove she plans to return there after her dependent visa ends.
4. Anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
