Hello,

My wife will most likely getting a ITA soon. Question: she was denied an extension of her work permit (because there was no labour market assessment done) but seems to have enough points to qualify for perm residence (ITA). After she gets an ITA, because in the delay processing, can or should she apply for a work permit? will the lack of a LMIA no longer be an issue? Otherwise she'll just have to wait the 6 months for federal skilled workers...

ITA does not qualify someone for a work permit. So no - unfortunately she will not be able to apply for one after receiving ITA. Unless she can get an approved LMIA, she will have to wait until she is a PR to work again.
