My co-op work permit was approved and sent to my Canadian residence on July 6, 2022. However, I left the country on May 18 for the summer holidays and was not planning to return until the end of August. I did not believe this was going to be an issue becausethere are people in Canada that can receive and keep the permit for me at the address I used for my application. It has been more than a month since my application was approved, and no permit has arrived at my application address; and I am starting to get nervous and anxious.
Is it possible that IRCC knows I am not in the country, which is why it has not delivered the mail?
I am asking this because something similar happened to me with a student permit that never arrived at the specified address when I was out of the country. And I needed to apply for a new one which took months.
The six weeks IRCC gives for the mail to be delivered will happen on August 17, 2022. However, I am afraid that by this time, it will be too late to receive a new one before the beginning of September, which is when I am supposed to start working.
I have my plane ticket to Canada until August 28. If the answer to the bolded question is 'yes,' maybe I should come back earlier so IRCC knows I am in the country and like that they will deliver the mail?
