Hi,
My hubby is planning to apply for jobs in Canada and get work permit to come there. We just need to start the process of searching job, I got lot of job sites from previous posts. My questions are here:

1. As we don't know about exact living style/cost of living in Canada, when we apply for job...in case get selected and what should be the salary range we need to negotiate? (My hubby has 7+ years of exp in Software (Oracle, DW..) and with MCA, international work exp)

2. Family with 4 members, how much can be estimated cost of living there (min-max), so that we can have something in mind.

3. What are the benefits, we should expect from employer?

4. If you know, any best job consultants or any job sites for Software ppl, please post here.

Thanks

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1. I have no idea what he is supposed to make but the job market in Canada is very fast. It is ok to take a job at a lower wage to start and once he figures he should make more, then ask for more or look for a better job.

2. According to immigration, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english//information/applications/guides/5196E10.asp#cont - table 3, the minimum for a family of 4 is $41,000 a year.

3. You have to look up the labour standards in your province. The work week may be 40-44 hours. Breaks may be paid, unpaid or mixed. Two weeks vacation a year is normal. Sick days are usually unpaid. Many jobs come with supplementary health and dental insurance that covers the family as well.

4. These are the job sites I know of:
