Hi, I'm currently a substitute teacher in a public school district. According to the school board, every 170 days of work = 1.0 FTE (since we count our work hours as 9 hr/day and we have winter/summer breaks)
However, this means we actually work 45 hours per week and don't have any work during July and August. I know for express entry (EE), full-time work experience cannot count above 30 hours per week and it has to be 52 weeks for one year. For teachers, do we have exceptions for how the work hours are counted? For example, now I have 170 days of work experience and the school board said I have ONE YEAR of experience already!! Obviously, the definition is different from what IRCC expects.
But the thing is, will IRRC TAKE this as one year???? Or do I have to do extra work compared to other careers?
