Hello all,

I have a question about work history. The question where they ask how many years of experience do you have outside of Canada in the last ten years; they also say it must have been in the same position. What does that mean for someone who worked a total of about eight years in those ten years but, five years as a high school teacher, one year nine months as a kindergarten teacher, and currently one year as an elementary school teacher so far? What should be done in this situation?

Anyone of this is fine as its more than one year continuous experience.

For FSW eligibility criteria, you get max points for 6 years of work experience within the past 10 years. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers/six-selection-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html

For CEC, you only need one year of full time canadian work experience to be eligible.

Once your eligible, your CRS would be calculated where you get max points for 3 years of foreign work experience and 5 years of Canadian work experience. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/criteria-comprehensive-ranking-system/grid.html

Anything beyond 6 / 3 years foreign work experience won't add any points.
