I have both Jobs and Education which I did not fill in during my initial Express Entry profile. I thought they were irrelevant (and did not want to fill in unnecessary information or spend time on it). I am filling the PR application form now after getting ITA. These initial details are carried forward to the PR application Personal Activity field. But there are a few gaps, and I cannot proceed with the application without filling gaps.

I am wondering if I should fill in unemployed in Personal History. If I fill in unemployed will it reflect negatively in any way in my profile? So maybe I should fill the jobs and education in Personal history, but then Personal History will not match Work and Education History. :-\

What is the best approach?

You have to mention those jobs and education in the personal history section.

You list everything you have done for the last 10 years. Periods of unemployment do not reflect negatively at all. Just make sure the timeline of your life is accurate. Everyone has been unemployed at some point.

So I should also go back and update my employment and work history?

1) The reason I did not include the education was because it was not recognized by WES.
2) Left out some jobs because it seemed like unnecessary effort, and I was not sure if I will find valid documentation to show the work period.

PS: Thanks for your replies guys

No.

Work history and education history are sections that you want to get points for and you will have to upload evidence of this work.

Think of personal history as a timeline of your life with work history and education as HIGHLIGHTS. List your life in personal history and just the education and work in those separate sections that you are using for points. Its the normal process.

I have a similar question. I did a part-time course for which I was awarded a certificate. The course only lasted three months, so WES told me they could not recognize it.

I want to include this course in the personal history, but when I click on "educational activity" under "activity type", the “Level of education” gives me the options “none”, “secondary diploma”, “one-year program” and other options of more than one year. So, nothing for a few months.

I also can't really list it as "unemployed" under "activity type" because I was working during the whole duration of the course as well. That work experience is listed in my personal history because I am not claiming points for it.

Not sure how to include the course... Thoughts?

In my non-expert opinion you don't need to provide this course details. You have already mentioned a work history during this period. Since you were working and studying simultaneously, you probably need to list only one.

Hmm... Maybe I should mention it in the LOE and explain that none of the options in the drop-down menu were accurate for this?

Just put Education - none and in LOE explain that it was a 3 month course. It's not complicated.

Similar question but just wanted to confirm. My work exp is as follows:

1) Job A- Sep 2012-Oct 2013
2)Job B- Dec 2013- August 2014
3) Job C- Nov 2014-Nov 2016
4)Job D-Nov 2016-Current

In work history section before ITA, should i just put Job C? It is enough to get me above cutoff and put the other jobs in personal history after ITA?

Also, i graduated from university in May 2012 so not including Job A or B in the work history section would create an issue with gaps?

Thank you
