I am a foreign worker under the I.E.C. - International Experience Canada program, and was accepted under a closed work permit (Young Professionals) tied to my current company, which I work for full time. I was approached recently by another company that would like to make a contract with me to work for them outside that schedule, and I am having a hard time finding out any official information on whether or not this can be done with this work permit. I would be working for them under on a kind of freelance fashion on a schedule that does not clash with my current schedule for the company which my work permit is tied to.
Does anyone have any information on this regard? Is it possible, not possible, where can I find an official statement for something like this?

Thank you.

Not legally possible.

You are on a closed work permit which is tied to a specific employer. You can only legally work for the employer named in your work permit.

You would need to be holding an open work permit (e.g. Working Holiday Visa) in order to have the flexibility to work for other employers.
