I am a little confused with the work experience hours required for CEC PR. On the website, it says that they need 1560 hours of experience which is equivalent to 30hr a week for 12 months. However, I have been working 40 hours a week for around 8 months.

My question is: does it make a difference that I've been working more hours, and should I do the math and add my hours to see if I have reached the 1560 hours required prior to completing one year of work or do I have to have exactly 12 months of experience, regardless of my 40h/week?

You need to have the 12 months regardless of how many hours you work per week.

To qualify, you need to have 52 weeks where you worked 30 hours or more in each of those weeks. If you worked 60 hours in 1 week, that still only counts as 1 week (not 2).

Oh I see. Thanks!

Also, if I'm adding experience from two different jobs, should I then only count the weeks I worked to know how many more I need to be able to apply? And do holiday breaks count on those 52 weeks?

I'm not sure I understand all of your questions.

Holidays count as long as you were paid.

Here's how you do the calculation. It doesn't matter how many jobs you were working (as long as all of the jobs were NOC A, B or 0). It's all about the number of hours in each week.

- For any week where you worked 30 hours or more, count this as 1 week. Doesn't matter if you worked 30 hours or 40 hours or 90 hours.
- If applicable, for all weeks where you worked less than 30 hours, add up the total hours and then divide by 30.

When the two numbers above add up to 52, you have a year of Canadian work experience.
