Work experience

Hello everyone,

I have a query regarding work experience. I have almost 1 year of experience in a research oriented field. I have been appointed as a Project assistant in Indian central government research institute. It is a full time,paid and contractual job. It comes under NOC 'A' in skilled worker program.

My CRS score after adding this work experience is 471.

I want to ask should I go for application filling or should I gain more experience and apply after that?

Every review will be highly appreciated.

Your one year experience will be considered...
but for CRS minimum 1 year and maximum 3 years of work experience is considered and it will give you full points in the work experience section if you have 3 years or more.

Last draw was around 476-478, so you being at 471 can apply for express entry and there are chances that you will get PNP invitation.

on the other hand even if you don’t get the PNP invitation you should have your profile in express entry and simultaneously continue getting more work experience.

Thank you so much for your reply. I generally work more than 40 hrs a week which makes around 1960 hrs for a year. However on the CIC website they count 1560 hrs as a full year. Could you please tell me more about this ? Will it be beneficial in any way?

Minimum requirement is 1560 hours in a year which is 365 days, if you are working less than it then there is a problem, if more than 1560 hours then things are perfect for you.
But even if you work more than 1560 years but everything will be counted in one specific year that is for 365 days.
So for second year the extra hours from previous years wont be counted or brought forward. Hope that's fine now.
It is more than 1560 hours because in India we work for 6 days and around 9 hours per day excluding some Govt organizations like yours where you are working 5 days for 8 hours.

So nothing to worry.. as I said you can apply and may get PNP invitation for 471. Esle you have the option of gaining more work experience side by side.
