Hi, I guess it is very usual that we will get something called Relieving certificate saying so & so have worked in this company from date-to-date with possibly a title, etc. In addition to this, of course, we will have our usual Offer/emp letter
Should we get any more/additional letters in addition to these standard ones? I am afraid its not possible for me to get as not even sure how/who can give me this if i am talking about an employment before 10 years.
Any advice/leads will be valuable

For any work experience for which you're claiming points for you will be required a reference letter following IRCC's guidelines.

"should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits"

Thanks. When we say Reference letter, is it that we need to just provide one standard Ref letter with all these information (including our prev employment) or we can show our Offer letter, releiving letters, etc in which all these info are scattered?
Of course, for our current employment, we can get such one Reference letter. Right?

Whether it is for previous employment or current employment the only mandatory requirement is a reference letter.

If you're unable to provide this you can get a declaration from a former colleague or manager stating your duties and responsibilities (and notarize this document) this document plus whatever else you can provide might prove sufficient (ideally with proof that you tried to get a proper reference letter)

Hi, I don't have the Job reference letter for the company that i worked 10 years ago and i have all the required letters for the past 10 years employment using which i have claimed points. But i showed that employment while applying Canada work permit 4 years ago. Now, i don't claim any points using that employment. Can any one please tell me whether do i need to mention this in personal history or work history section. Thanks in Advance.

If it was over 10 years ago you don't even have to mention it in the personal history section.

Thanks for the response. Since i mentioned that employment in the old work permit application and in the work history they asked all the employment details without any time bound, i have this confusion about how to sync this PR application and the existing WP application. If i mention the employment in the work history, then i need the letter in the required format which i don't have now.

You're not claiming points for that work experience therefore you don't have to add it in the work history section either.

Ok,great. One more doubt. my education details provided in the education section i.e obviously 10 years ago and the employment details provided in the work history section automatically populated in personal history. hence, do we need to provide all the history from my education period in the personal history section.

Thanks for real quick response @DelPiero07.

It works the same way - if you're claiming points for it and it is auto-populated then don't remove it.

If there's other education for which you're not claiming points and which was over 10 years ago then you don't have to include it in the personal history section.

Hi, Can you please clarify this. I had submitted the job reference letter to PNP from my supervisor which i got in the company letter pad. since he's not my supervisor now, i am planning to get the same letter from my colleague using his official mail id and get it notarized. will it create any problem due to this difference in the PNP and PR application job reference letter though the contents are same.
