Hi guys,

I should be receiving an ITA soon but I am confused about how to proceed with my application. On Jan 1, 2017 I was awarded 25 points for completion of my second year at work and my score bumped up to 496. Now the thing is I don't actually complete my second year until Feb 17. I think I have two options.

1) Proceed with the application and explain in LOE that even though I haven't completed my second year I still qualify since my score of 471 > 51st draw cut off.
2) Wait till end of February and then proceed with my application.

What do you guys think? What is the best course of action? ???

Thank you

You can proceed with your application . you don;t have to decline it , i have confirmed with CIC themselves and they said EE offers you points and sends you an ITA only if you are eligible .i.e EE counts number of hours per year if you your hours of work qualifies their work experience requirement you get points in advance hence your points get awarded to you a month in advance or whatever . Now that being said the also advised you can submit your ITA Application until after Feb17 (your actual 2 years of work experience completion) .

as you get 90 days to submit your application so there , you have plenty of time to wait and submit your application .

In his specific case though he doesn't need those 2 years of work experience in order to be above the cutoff score.

He can proceed with his application whenever.

Yes in your case you can proceed with your application . Del is right . i mean when is he isn't :P

I was wondering if i should create a thread and clarify this once and for all :'( since this hasn't been clarified anywhere on this forum .

I received my postgrad work permit in Feb 2015 but i started working in Jan 2015. In my express entry profile i mentioned that i started working a month earlier than when i receiving my PostGrad(since i didn't want to lie). My score is 473 and I just received my ITA today. Should i accept it or not yet?

How were you able to work without a work permit?

yes absolutely ! you can accept your ITA and proceed with your application i have a similar case except that i started working in jan 05 and i got my pgwp in april 2015 and i am still counting my experience from jan 05 2015 to jan 05 2017 . i pretty positive that we are good to go , and we can use those 2 or 3 months or Work experience

as we were on implied status we had applied for PGWP and finished our studies . any one else is more than welcome to jump in to conversation :)

Hi guys appreciate your help in advance.

i created my express entry profile on Nov 19th 2016 and input my skilled work experience start date as Feb 2015, in the section that asks for my NOC code. Then in the work experience section I put Feb 2015 to still working at that job. My points came out to be 468.

I just checked today and I am at 493 all of a sudden. Under the CRS - Human Capital - Canadian Work Experience section its giving me 53 points which implies that I have two years worth of work experience. But i will not have two years work experience until Feb 16th 2017! Why is it giving me the extra work experience points in advance. Is this normal?

Please let me know. The last time i checked was Dec 16th 2016 and I had 468 now I'm at 493 so confused. Just to clarify I got ITA today(still waiting for email)

So based on what people are saying even though I have 493 now because of system glitch I won't be rejected for misrepresentation.

Same happened to me, I finish two years in January but my score got updated back in December. I consulted an immigration lawyer, he say it is pretty normal.

That's a different story, I think you would have to state that you were working there part time then joined as a co-op.
