Hi folks,

I'm writing to ask if someone knows if I can use my existing experience letter/certificate of employment/affidavits. So I tried to apply for Australian PR 3 years ago but didn't push through so I already have these documents. I'm wondering if I can still use it for applying for Canadian PR.

What I have:
  • Experience letter (notarized; for one previous company)
    • Job position
    • Inclusive dates
    • Duties and responsibilities
    • at least 6 months of payslips
  • Certificate of Employment (notarized; for four previous companies)
    • Job position
    • Inclusive dates
    • NO duties and responsibilities
  • Affidavits (notarized; for previous companies that only provided Certificate of Employment)
    • Duties and responsibilities
    • Signed by my immediate supervisors from my previous jobs
My questions are:
  1. Will these documents suffice?
  2. Is there a deadline for submission every year?
  3. Is it required to provide payslips? or it is more of a supplement to the documents?
I apologize for asking questions that might have been answered before. I try to ask them in one place. Thanks a lot!

That all depends! Australia runs a whole different set of requirements and points system that grant people more points as they go on in their experience up to 10 years. However, in Canada it's much more simpler and only requires you to prove 3 years of experience in the last 10 years prior to your eAPR date, to get maximum points rendering any more experience as redundant. So if the "one previous company" experience amount for 3 or more years then that's all you need to claim under work history, however if not, you need to include one or more of the other companies but you need to bring in a list of duties as this is strictly required for Canada to proof that you are eligible for FSW program.

so to answer your questions:
1- It may depending on your situation, as stated above.
2- Not sure what you mean by deadline. While creating your EE profile you wont be required to upload any documents, you will however be required to fill your eAPR after you receive your ITA within 60 days and make the payment and upload your documents.
3- payslips are completely optional and is not required. However, if the employment reference letter do not include your annual salary somehow you could either attach your contract or payslips for as many months as you can. This will of course trigger a ''review required'' since it doesn't strictly follow the guidelines but it will be eventually approved after careful investigation by IRCC.
