Hey y'all !

I was found eligible to apply through the EE a month ago and have recently been invited to apply for the OINP , however, I am a little concerned about my work experience:

I have worked as a nurse and have been employed by 4 different hospitals.

Sep 2020- Dec 2020
Dec 2020 - Jan 2021
Feb 2021 - July 2021
July 2021 - Mar 2022

The thing is that I am not even relying on the first 2, however, between my 3rd and 4th job there is a 6-day gap only. I had to take that time between jobs due to all the paperwork that came with a new job. All my duties, responsibilities fall into the same NOC category. I wonder if there might be any issues down the road.

If we count the 3 and the 4 jobs I have a combined work experience of 1 year, 1 month and 19 days but then if you deduct 6 days ,it's still over a year. I believe 6 days should not be that big of a deal and impose any restrictions on my eligible but it is just me.

Am I good? Or is there anything I have to worry about? I had no issues with the EE since when I was listing my work experience I had to choose only months and years so the 6 day gap was not included in the calculation, of course.

Thanks to whoever responds , it is much appreciated and God bless!

I think you’re probably alright. In your final application you’re asked to explain any gaps in work history, 6 paperwork days seems like a reasonable explanation so you shouldn’t have a problem. You should still disclose those days though.

Don’t count the days but the hours per week. As long as you have 30 hours per week for one year, you should be okay.

For example:

1. Full-time at 1 job (Thirty hours per week for 12 months is equal to 1 year full-time (1,560 hours).)

2. Equal amount in part-time work (Fifteen hours per week for 24 months is equal to 1 year full time (1,560 hours))

You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement.

3. Full-time work at more than 1 job (Thirty hours per week for 12 months at more than 1 job is equal to 1 year full time (1,560 hours).

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours per week.)
