Hi,

I am a PR currently residing in Canada. I want to have my parents over somewhere around March/ April of next year so that they can spend a couple of months here with me.

I am currently working on Contract and the contract is about to terminate in December 2018. I have a few questions:

Is it advisable that I apply for their visa now, that I can show salary slips as a source of income? or is it too soon??

While applying for their visa, can I state that they will be coming here in December? If yes, do I need to show booked tickets as proof of the trip?

What will be the implication if I apply for their visa after December when I might not have a job and an income source to show?

I'd really appreciate any inputs on these questions.

Thanks,
GS

It's advisable to apply about 6 months before the intended visit dates.

Too soon. A lot can happen between now and December.... or between December and March-April.

Not a good idea to be untruthful.

Don't book tickets before visas are issued. You can get 'Hold for 24 hours' type of bookings. Check Yatra.com + mention in the cover letters that you will book their tickets after their visas are issued.

Approvals would depend on their financial situation + their strong ties to India + any previous travel history will help.

Your financial situation is secondary. Your support could be for providing accommodation and to take care of their travel/living expenses. That said, it would help if you manage to keep your bank balance to pre-December numbers even if you're not on a contract (if they apply post-December) i.e. at least until your parents' visas are approved
