I've been in Canada since '05 from the US. My spouse was sponsoring my PR and I received my work permit but now we are splitting up and she has sent a letter to CIC withdrawing her sponsorship, about one year ago. I recently got a letter from CIC saying that it has come to their attention we are no longer living together and I have thirty days to respond to them. It's interesting that they just didn't say my application is cancelled. What can I say in response? Can I get some extension of my stay here to take care of the many ties I've made from living here legally for 3 1/2 years?

The sponsor may cancel anytime up until the PR card is issued ,2005 wow
thats a long time to be waiting for PR approval ,im sure theirs reasons for teh delay
however contact them right away ,if you have been working under a work visa all this time they may allow another type of immigration proceeding experience class for example, only they can tell you whats on their mind ,call them right away dont delay is my advice so you know what you are dealing with.
