Withdrawing Outland to go Inland

Just looking for some advice...

I applied Outland and I am still waiting for a AOR1 for a month now.

I am in Canada on a working visa, expiring soon.

Plans may have changed and I was wondering if it's possible to withdraw my Outland app and reapply Inland so I can remain in Canada and continue to work. Or is it not worth the trouble?

You can certainly withdraw the outland app and apply inland. If you submit the OWP along with the inland application you'll have the OWP around four months after the full package is submitted.

Do i have implied status until the OWP is approved? Or I can't work until it is approved? I thought it took about 1-2 months for an OWP to be approved?

I am sorry, I do not understand what you mean by a working visa.

You can only apply for a work permit from inside Canada if:

• you, your spouse or parents have a valid study or work permit,
• you have a work permit for one job but want to apply for a work permit for a different job,
• you have a temporary resident permit that is valid for six months or more, or
• you are in Canada because you have already applied for permanent residence from inside Canada. You will have to pass certain stages in the main application process before you can be eligible for a work permit.

If you are already in Canada as a visitor, you may not apply within Canada. You must apply for a work permit at a Canadian visa office:

• responsible for the country where you live,
• responsible for the country you are a citizen of, or
• at a Canadian embassy or consulate in the United States of America.

You may be asked to go for an in-person interview at that office. If so, make sure you have all the documents you need to enter that country.
If you mean that you are already here on a work permit, then all you do need is extend your work permit or renew the same.

What work permit do you currently hold? The OWP with the inland PR app will give you Implied Status but whether you can continue to work depends on what permit you have now.

The stated time is 4 months. Many people have been receiving them earlier but that is not a guarantee.

These are not necessarily true, and are just not true for arguably the most common asked about in this subforum. For examples, most countries' IEC work permit programmes allow youth aged 18-30/35 to apply from anywhere in the world, including inside Canada. A very, very small number of countries (Italy?) have requirements that the applicant have an address in their home country at the time they apply. For people applying inland for spousal sponsorship, whatever reason they're in Canada, if they're in Canada they can apply inland, and if they apply inland they can apply at the same time for a bridging open work permit.
