Hi All,
I would like to know that Withdrawing our visa application for study permit will have impact on any future application, which we may make. Does Embassy have records on the status of withdrawing visa application, if anyone does withdraw visa application for study permit.

Withdrawal will never have any impact.

But remember to provide the info in future application that you had applied and withdrawn and, the reason why you had withdrawn.

Thanks for your reply. Do I need to explain in SOP about reason of withdrawn, if I apply next year for study permit ?. I did withdraw my visa application this year but I have not received letter yet, which states that my case has been closed from High Commission of Canada, New Delhi. if case is closed then embassy does not inform in writing to the applicant ? Please let me know about it?

Best regards,
Seema

A quick mention (1 or 2 lines) on your SOP would be sufficient. Keep it factual - what prog & when you had applied and when & why did you withdraw and finally why are you applying again. We Indians have a tendency to get melodramatic, dont make the explanation a 3 hour Hindi film story.... ;D

I hope your reason to withdraw was legitimate and, not something frivolous. Though a frivolous reason would not warrant a rejection but, it just makes a VO think 2wice.

Good Luck!

Many Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate your response. As far as reason of withdrawal is concerned, It was legitimate and not frivolous. I applied for Master Program and I was asked to submit more documents about my current job from current employer and I did submit all documents but my visa application was not processed on time and I was unable to attend Fall 2013 because deadline had passed and moreover this graduate program only runs once in a year.So I wrote this reason to the embassy and withdrew my visa application. Next year I will apply for same program because I still have an offer from university and I have some scholarship too. Indeed my supervisor told me that withdraw your application and re apply next year.
