Anybody here has experience in withdrawing Outland application and filing Inland app to get OWP since the spouse Visitor visa is now approved. No AOR yet. Any disadvantages of doing that?

You should wait at least until your spouse is actually in Canada. It's always possible that less than 6 months stay is granted by CBSA at the port of entry.

True but if they are also planning to apply for the inland sponsorship and owp, his wife would get the work permit within 4-5 months, so then he should be fine even if her visitors visa is only given a 6 months validity. Right? And of course I say this under the circumstance that they have all the paper work ready and apply as soon as the applicant arrives, so as to not delay any longer. My main issue would be the fees ...

I'm more thinking about the possibility of only a couple of weeks being granted. This is not that unusual, if CBSA are uncomfortable with the visa holder. Fees, and the possibility of not getting the complete package returned, including things like PCC...

Only couple of weeks? is that possible? Even if the return ticket is after a Month? Not too worried about the package since PCC was the only original doc. I think i will lose my PR fee which is a risk i am willing to take

I'm thinking "worst case". Yes, it is always possible, as CBSA is free to set their own rules of length of stay. Hence, as we say, "don't count your chickens until they have hatched".
