If I was to withdraw my application to sponsor which hasn't received AOR from CPC-M yet would I receive the physical application back? Would they send it back to me or do they just stop processing it?
My wife made an error on a previous study permit application where she checked off "No" to previous post secondary education when she had attended a semester of university where she dropped out having not done most of her exams. She was confused when it asked for details on the highest level of post secondary education and mistakenly checked off no because she didn't think she had any level of post secondary education. On her background declaration and generic form for Canada we corrected this error and entered that semester and included a brief letter explaining it along with a printed version of the form she made the error on and the letter of refusal.. I was contemplating withdrawing before my file is opened to provide a better explanation letter but I don't want to have to complete the entire application again.Mardek said:They will not return the application.
If you've submitted any original documents, they will be returned.
Why do you want to withdraw?
The problem is that the error was made on a previous application. Therefore the form the error was made on was from an already refused application. We already sent in the correct information on the forms for pr. What I'm worried about is cic saying she misrepresented her semester in university to better her chance of getting the study permit. She willfully put the correct info into this application and explained she didn't understand the question. I just don't know if that's good enough for cicKelseyTVS said:Send in a corrected form and a brief explanation in a case specific inquiry. You don't have to withdraw the application.
I wanted to provide a better explanation in more detail then the explanation we did provide.Aquakitty said:Why would you want to withdraw this application when she made the error on an old application? I thought you said you sent in an explanation with this current application. Since she did not misrepresent anything on this application, it's a non-issue.
What if CIC takes the angle that she knowingly concealed her failed semester to enhance her chance of obtaining the study permit? That's what I'm worried about. My wife and I both know it's an honest mistake but we have no control over how cic views itcanuck_in_uk said:You are making an issue out of nothing. You explained what happened and it really isn't a big deal. CIC won't care.
