My husband and I have been residing in South Korea for the past year, while awaiting for his aprooval under the family class. I am a Canadian citizen, he is a Nigerian citizen. We are processing through Accra Ghana. It has now been 11 months since we have applied, and about nine months since there have been any updates on our account.
My question is in regards to a visitors visa. I am working at a school in S.Korea, and will have holidays in february. We would like to be able to go home to Canada and visit my family. I have a contract here with my school, we will also have roundtrip plane tickets as well. The issue is that he is here on a spousal visa to stay with me. That means he cannot work, therefore he has no evidence other than his roundtrip ticket that he will be returning to Korea. Is the fact that I am traveling with him, and that I will have my contract enough evidence for them to aproove a visitors visa? I have called the embassy here in South Korea, they said they have no idea until I apply, and of course that will cost us over $150, but isn't guaranteed to be aprooved.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or any answers that might help us to decide if we should apply for the visitors visa or not?
