Will the C1 criterion still trigger RQ ?

Hello all,
Does this criterion C1 ( renewed documents within 3 months of CIT app submission) still trigger RQ ?
I am preparing my application when I realized that I have an 9months expired passport . After posting question and calling the CIC call center, I decided that it is better to renew the passport before sending the application. The passport is being renewed ( will get it next week or so) but now I read link below that with an Id renewed within 3 months of application is an automatic trigger .

Does the policy still active ? Does anyone recently submitted his application with a new passport / ID ?

Renewing country's ID with address on it (Like Driver License) MAY trigger some questions... and then MAYBE RQ (big maybe... not guaranteed)

Renewing ID like your PASSPORT is not a known RQ trigger. Just remember to submit clean photocopies of all passport within the relevant 4 years period

I'm not sure you're talking about passport as an ID because you can submit copies of bio pages of passport PLUS 2 ID's (DL and Health card)as required. In this case your passport is not considered as an ID. Whatever the case is, I applied with recently renewed DL( less than 3 months) and didn't have any issue.

Thanks both for Arambi and Goldline for sharing your experience/knowledge. Yes I will submit a clean photocopy of the 2 passports ( old &new) + DL and health card.

Again thanks

I don't know why people are afraid of RQ so much,
I know it's an extra hassle, but eventually you will get your citizenship!

@ Goldline,

I have submitted my current passport's biographical pages which is still valid as the part of section:
3. Biographical page of passport(s)/travel document(s)

I have made another copy of the same passport's biographical pages(as 1st ID) along with my drivers licence(as 2nd ID)as part of section:
5. Two (2) pieces of personal identification

My health card and drivers licence is embedded in one card thus I didn't have any other ID to attach.

I have read in this forum that you can use multiple copies of same ID for various requirements while filling citizenship form

Will CIC not accept the copies of my passport as an ID?

Are you serious guys? You sent multiple copies of same document with same application?
Geez man. I sent one copy of my passport for both "copy of the passport" and "additional photo ID".
Same for my daughter school records; I sent only one copy for me, my wife and daughter herself. Was I supposed to send 3 copies of the same document?

I think you should be fine because you don t have a separate Health card. The problem is when someone from another province like Ontario where they have a DL and a Health card but they hide one of them because it is expired or recently renewed. Having an expired DL or a Health card used to be a trigger for RQ because they think the person is not residing in the province.

I suppose you would be fine as CIC will understand it obviously. If you still have doubts, please call cic call centre to confirm.

In my case, I organized the documents with paper clips separately and made it like a group and attached sticky note on every group of documents.
I used sticky notes like:

1. Application with cover letter
2. Language Proof -
3. two pieces of ID - - Passport, Drivers License
4. Payment receipt
5. Immigration documents (PR card, COPR)
6. Residency Calculator
7. Biographical pages of passport

And you attached two copies of same passport as for item 3 and 7?
With my application I attached only one copy to be used for passport copy and photo ID. I have the test on Feb 13, so I'd imagine was fine.

Good luck.

Your application was not returned as uncomplete within the first 2 months and you already received the test letter so you have nothing to worry about.

Yes, that is correct.

As you have been scheduled for test already which means your application has been accepted thus you don't need to worry about anything :) Cheers and good luck!
