Will parents sponsored under family class program be covered under healthcare??

Dear All,

I'm planning to sponsor my parents for PR under family class program. My dad & mom are 60 & 52 respectively. I wanted to know if they will be covered under canadian healthcare system once they get their pr.??

Please help with this issue.

Yes, they will be covered for healthcare after becoming PRs. Note that some provinces have 2-3 month waiting periods after landing before qualifying for coverage.

YES (subject to waiting period in certain provinces. Others give coverage from Day 1, such as Alberta)
