Will my study permit be valid once I have renewed my passport?

My study permit expires in April 2023 with my passport, I have renewed my passport so does that mean my study permit is still valid?
Assuming I can travel to Canada, I should bring both my now expired passport and new with the study permit?
I will apply for an extension once I am in Canada, and I am travelling in December.
